National Lockdown:
Communal Worship continues
Churches are able to open at this time in accordance with the guidance we have in place for the safe use of places of worship. This means we can continue to gather for the celebration of Holy Mass. Please check the service times in the Parish Bulletin. When attending church you should follow the COVID guidelines and must not mingle with anyone outside of your household or support bubble.

St Anthony of Padua
Our Patron
The Holy Infant and St Anthony
The saint most often seen in artwork holding the Infant Jesus in his arms is our patron St Anthony of Padua. The story is told that one day, while reading the Scriptures, he received an apparition. The Infant Jesus appeared resting on the pages of the Scriptures and in his arms. The Word of God appeared to the man who had dedicated his whole life to preaching the Gospel. For this reason, many images of St Anthony depict him holding a Bible alongside the Infant Jesus.
